What Should be Done Now ?
Suggested course of action is based on the following logic:
1. A soldier is less un-comfortable with a middle rung officer than a General Officer. 2. A middle rung officer supported by the General Officers will have more credence than a General Officer supported by middle rung officers.
Following actions are suggested :-
1. Present leadership of the IESM be most respectfully elevated to the ranking of Patrons.
2. Middle rung officers be chosen through the founder, core group and steering committee members on an adhoc basis till the GBM takes place.
3. IESM should not be confined to Gurgaon, Ghaziabad or Delhi. It should have representation from at least a dozen states and dozen PBOR.
4. Reps of different ESM be included in the IESM if they are ready to merge in IESM. To set an example, I will persuade the national Executive Committee of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha and the Ex-Servicemen Organization of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust which I head, to merge in IESM.
