Pay Commission Proposals
A special committee has been set up headed by
Mr .Raghuramiah, Deputy Defence Minister, to consider
the applicability of the recommendations of the Central
Pay Commission to the combatants and enrolled
non-combatants in the armed forces. This was announced
by the Defence Minister, Mr V.K.Krishna Menon, in the
Lok Sabha on November 18 in reply to a question by
Mr. S.M.Banerjee and five other members.
The Defence Minister said that the general idea was
that the special committee would consist of
representatives of the Ministries of Defence and
Finance, the Army, Navy and the Air Headquarters.
