Views of privileged section of Veterans regarding the Improved Pension which the govt. wants to give to JCOs, SNCOs, NCOs and Other Ranks as OROP.

Dear Veterans,
Regards. Though I never wanted to higlight such things but without this the real picture can not be shown to veterans. Find below the messages posted on.....Report my Singal.....blog regarding the improved pension which the govt. wants to give the under privileged section of veterans i.e. JCOs, SNCOs, NCOs and other ranks. Mindset of privileged section of veterans is clearly depicted in these messages. Under such circumstances, whose 'Mom' should the under privileged section of veterans should address as 'Aunt'.

Dear Gen Radha Krishnan,
A sane advice. I agree with your assessment of current position. Over the years incorrect information on the legitimate demand of Veterans had been projected in files by those who discussed these demands with the Govt. The same incorrect information is currently being used to reject our demands. It is obvious to any body who reads the COS report that the Committee had summarily rejected our Demand and granted some doles to selected sections of ESM Community on considerations that are outside the main demand of ESM. (Note:- This reference is being made to JCOs, SNCOs, NCOs and other ranks)
As you have rightly pointed out that our immediate task is to create an opening for a dialogue with Bureaucrats and Politicians and project the correct facts in writing first and then follow up these facts through discussions to provide clarity. There is no other way other than this to make any progress in this matter.
It is enjoyable reading of all E Mails of "Babu Bashing" in this net. But they do not take us far. Our Parliament is the Sovereign Body. The Country is governed by a Council of Ministers that have the confidence of the Parliament. Our constitution mandates the Council of ministers to govern the country, assisted by a cadre of civilian administrators. There is no way that we can by-pass the civil administration. We have to take them along with us to convince the Politicians who are the real decision makers. Finance and expenditure comes under the ambit of Administrators. Obviously they will have a great say when things are accepted finally. We have to prepare a fool proof case of administrative and financial viability of our demand in writing and place it before the decision makers through the civil administration.
There are a number of veterans who had already established good working relationships with concerned Bureaucrats and politicians. We need to use their services to progress the case. Since you have done lot of work on this demand, I feel that you may have to be a member of this team.
I wish that instead of highlighting our internal differences again and again, let us identify our common threads in thinking and form a core team and move ahead unitedly.

Thanks, Regards, S.Murugan
